Norbert Detressangle - A1 Personnel

Norbert Detressangle

BACKGROUND

In 2010 Norbert Dentressangle (NDL) took over the managed service for the CHEP pallet repair and distribution centre in Essex.  A1 Personnel started to supply to the CHEP site in 2003 when the incumbent agency was not able to supply the right calibre of staff.  With increasing attrition rates and low productivity A1 Personnel saw an opportunity to evaluate the workforce requirements and build a recruitment model that would assis the site in becoming successful.

Over a 3 month period A1 Personnel increased the share of agency staff due to lower attrition then the incumbent agency.  After 5 months of trading with CHEP, A1 Personnel put forward a proposal to open an A1 Personnel office on site and manage the full recruitment process.  Through understanding the difficulties in performing the available job roles at CHEP we were able to target the right workforce from the local area.  With strong management processes and daily meetings with the internal management team, A1 Personnel were able to deliver a 50 man strong workforce, consistently hitting targets with excellent attendance and commitment from the workers.

Since the inception of our recruitment facility at CHEP the business has changed hands through 2 managed service providers.  We have worked in partnership with Medway Hauliers and are now building strong relationships with Norbert Dentressangle since taking over the contract in 2011.
