We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Shift Technician to ensure our plant and production equipment operates at peak performance within this highly regulated and technical environment.

As a key member of our Maintenance team, you will support Production by ensuring plant equipment is operating efficiently, reliably, and safely. You’ll be the first point of contact for any technical issues, maintaining excellent communication across Production and escalating significant concerns to the Maintenance Manager.

You will consistently demonstrate:

  • Commitment to ongoing personal and technical development

  • Fast and effective time-to-repair with high-quality workmanship

  • A proactive approach to minimising downtime and maximising machine availability

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide hands-on engineering support throughout the production environment

  • Attend daily team meetings and issue work to team members

  • Train, mentor, and develop colleagues as required

  • Act as an expert within your discipline — signed off across all relevant training matrix areas

  • Lead by example and support new starters through guidance and mentoring

  • Play an active role in Health & Safety, promoting safe working practices

  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives across the department

  • Drive quality, reliability, and operational efficiency in all tasks

REQUIREMENTS

  • HNC, Time-Served Apprenticeship, or equivalent within an engineering discipline

  • Strong hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Previous exposure to aerospace manufacturing or aerospace engineering (highly advantageous)

  • Skilled in fault-finding, diagnostics, and root cause analysis

  • Confident at supporting and developing others within the team

  • A natural leader who maintains high standards and fosters teamwork

You will quickly and effectively diagnose issues using both practical experience and theoretical knowledge. This includes:

  • Identifying actual and potential problems swiftly

  • Communicating clearly and positively with the wider team

  • Offering and encouraging solutions in a collaborative and open environment

  • Maintaining a calm, reassuring approach to ensure the safe and continued running of the business

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (alternating days & nights)

  • 25% night shift allowance

  • Overtime opportunities available

  • A supportive, forward-thinking engineering team

  • Training, development, and opportunities to broaden aerospace-specific skills

  • A chance to play a vital role within a respected and growing aerospace manufacturer
